Bio::POD allows you to quickly and easily copy nucleotide and protein sequence from a gene.
Start by selecting the region you wish to copy. Once you have selected the region, right click (or Ctrl+click) the selected region. This will bring up a menu like this:
Click "Copy Sequence" to copy all of the nucleotide
sequence in the selected region.
Click "Copy Protein Sequence" to copy all of the
amino acids in the selected region.
NOTE: you will have different copy options in the two different gene views. For example, you cannot copy intron or flanking sequence in the Transcript View but you can in the Genomic View.
Once you have copied sequence, you may paste it to any other program or file as a simple string of the sequence (either nucleotide or peptide).
